In what is the highest figure in its 58-year history, Italian carmaker Lamborghini has recorded its best half-year in sales. The new record took place from January to June. The Italian carmaker has also received orders for the next ten months until April 2022.
To add some more context (and statistics), 4,852 units were delivered in this timeframe. This is a 37% increase over the same six months in 2020 and a 6.6% percent increase over the same period in 2019, which is impressive considering that it was before the world was struck with the pandemic.
Here are some more stats for you. Most of the credit can be given to the Urus (2,796 units), which has recorded over half of these sales, with the Huracan (1,532 units) and the Aventador (524 units) being the second and third highest contributors.
President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann said, “This exceptional result is a double confirmation for us. It is proof of the solidity and strength of this brand, which is enjoying growing appeal despite a period of continuous challenges and uncertainty. It also endorses the positive reception to our new industrial plan for future electrification of our product range, in which we will invest over 1.5 billion euros by 2024. Lamborghini’s course is set for a period of great transformation, where technological innovation and sustainability will go hand in hand with a focus on maximum product performance and loyalty to the brand’s DNA.”
The most sales have been recorded in the USA (1,502 units). Lamborghini has also launched the final iteration to the iconic Aventador, dubbed the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae. Scroll down to read more on that.
