A day ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas on Monday, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called upon people to pay tributes to soldiers who made the nation proud in the 1999 war.

The Kargil War is a symbol of valour and discipline of our armed forces, he said.

The Prime Minister is addressing the nation through his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat. The 79th edition of the programme is being broadcast on the entire network of AIR and Doordarshan and also on AIR News and mobile app.

The Prime Minister said every Indian felt proud watching our contingent in full glory at the Tokyo Games and asked people to cheer and support and cheer for team India.

PM Modi also urged people to take part in the ongoing Amrit Mahotsav being held in commemoration of the 75th Independence Day.
