Sri Lanka wins toss, opts to bowl v India in 1st T20
COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) - Sri Lanka has won the toss and elected to bowl in the first of three Twenty20 matches against India at R.Premadasa Stadium on Sunday.
India won the one-day series 2-1 but Sri Lanka also goes into the series with confidence having won the third one-dayer. It was Sri Lanka's first home victory against India in nine years.
Both teams are using the series to test new players in the lead up to the Twenty20 World Cup to be played later this year and gave first T20 international caps to two players each.
Charith Asalanka and Chamika Karunaratne are the newcomers for Sri Lanka while Prithvi Shaw and Varun Chakravarthy play their first game in the shortest format for India.
