
The Bulls proved too strong for a young Lions side in their Currie Cup encounter at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday as they ran out 40-21 winners in an entertaining encounter that saw nine tries scored.
The home side took a 28-14 lead into half-time thanks to tries from Harold Voster, Zak Burger (2) and Johan Grobbelaar while flyhalf Johan Goosen added four conversions.
In reply, the Lions scored tries from Vincent Tshituka and Courtnall Skosan, both of which were converted by Jordan Hendrikse.
The second half saw the Bulls score further tries from Richard Kriel and David Kriel
The Lions crossed the whitewash thanks to Sti Sithole with Hendriks adding the conversion.
The Lions are next up against the Pumas at Ellis Park while the Bulls are away to Western Province.
Both games take place on Friday, 30 July.
