ISC pass percentage jumps from 96.8 to 99.7

In trend with the increase in the overall pass percentage, the pass figures for ISC students in Delhi-NCR also rose from 97.8% in 2020 to 99.3% this year. While 1,417 of the 1,418 male candidates passed, 1,392 of 1,393 girls cleared the hurdle. For ICSE, the pass percentage in the region was 100%, up from 99.6% in 2020. A total of 2,909 boys and 2,554 girls passed the Class X exam.
For the ISC examination, CISCE relied on the average marks of papers/subjects obtained by the candidates in various tests/examinations conducted by their respective schools in classes XI and XII, the Class X average marks (English and best four subjects) and the marks of the project work/practical examination for the board exam.
For ICSE, the marks were calculated on the basis of average marks received by the students in papers/subjects in the various tests/examinations conducted by the schools at the Class IX and Class X levels plus the internal assessment marks of Class X.
In 2020, exams on some subjects had been managed before the Covid lockdown was declared. The marks last year were calculated on the basis of the average of the marks for subjects which students had appeared for.
At the national level, both the girls and boys have achieved a pass percentage of 99.9% in ICSE. In ISC, girls have done slightly better by achieving a pass percentage of 99.8%. The pass percentage of boys is 99.7%.
For both ICSE and ISC, the southern region has the best pass percentage. In Class X, it has recorded a 100% pass percentage. It is followed by western region (99.9%). In Class XII, the southern and western regions returned a pass percentage of 99.9% followed by the northern region with a pass percentage of 99.7%.
Among the special categories, Schedule Tribe students secured 100% pass percentage in Class X, while in Class XII, 99.8% of Other Backward Class students cleared the exams.
A total of 2,19,499 students appeared for ICSE, of whom 54.1 % were boys and 45.9% girls. The ISC exams had 94,011 candidates, of them 53.7% boys and 46.3% girls.
