Mumbai: Dharavi records four new Covid-19 cases; active cases stand at 29

MUMBAI: Dharavi, Dadar and Mahim regions on Sunday registered a single-digit rise in new coronavirus cases.
The slum sprawl of Dharavi reported four new cases of coronavirus on Sunday.
According to data received from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Dharavi has recorded a cumulative total of 6,959 Covid-19 cases and 6,571 recoveries.
The active cases in the region stand at 29, while on Saturday the active cases were 27 and recoveries were at 6,569.
On April 8 this year, the region recorded its highest-ever single day spike of 99 cases during the second wave of the virus outbreak. In May, cases from the slum town gradually declined. The first coronavirus case in Dharavi was reported on April 1, 2020.
In the neighbourhood Dadar, two new cases were reported, pushing the total tally in the region to 9,871. The active cases in the area have fallen to 160, while 9,527 people have been recovered so far.
Meanwhile, nine cases were recorded in Mahim in the last 24 hours. The caseload in the region has increased to 10,178, while 66 active cases and 9,910 recoveries were recorded today.
Currently, the G/North administrative ward of the BMC, which consists of Dharavi, Dadar and Mahim, reported 15 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally to 27,008. The region has 255 active cases and 26,008 recoveries.
