A Lumberton man who was arrested following a high-speed chase that ended in a fatal crash is facing several charges, according to Jasper County’s inmate arrest report.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office report states that Kade Davis, 23, has been arrested for the unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, assault on family/household member with previous conviction, tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair, evading arrest detention, deadly conduction, possession of fewer than 2 ounces of marijuana, criminal trespass of a habitat/shelter/superfund/infrastructure, violation of bond/protective order and theft of property greater than $1,500 to less than $20,000.
Last week, Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Chuck Havard said Jasper County sheriff’s deputies were chasing Davis, who allegedly was driving a stolen truck, when he crashed into a car on Barnhill Road in Orange County.
Laurie Beth Seehusen, 58 of Vidor, was the driver and sole occupant of the car that Davis crashed into shortly after 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Texas 105 and Farm Road 1131. Davis, who was not identified at the time, sustained minor injuries and was arrested that day, authorities said.
Havard told The Enterprise on Saturday that the crash, which is in the process of being reconstructed by officials, remains under investigation. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was unable to be reached by press time. No further information was available.
