Youth booked for raping minor girl

Gurgaon: A youth in his 20s has been booked for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Manesar. The crime came to light on Thursday when the girl complained of stomach pain and was taken to a government hospital, where doctors confirmed that she is pregnant.
On being prodded, the girl revealed that she was raped by a youth who lives in the same neighbourhood.
The girl told her parents that the crime happened a few weeks back when she was alone at home. The youth, whose name the girl does not know, allegedly dragged her to his room and raped her. When her parents asked her that why she had hiddenit for so long, the girl said that she was threatened by the man to remain silent.
The girl’s father, who works with a private company in Manesar, said they have been living in the same locality for the past several years. The hospital alerted police and a counsellor from the women and child welfare department.
An FIR was registered under Section 6 of POCSO Act and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC at women police station in Manesar on Thursday.
