Mumbai BMC Seals DMart Store, Violated Covid Protocol

Maharashtra`s Mumbai in Malad a DMart store was sealed by BMC due to the violation of Covid19 protocol. 

 Mumbai`s Malad DMart store was fully occupied today in violation of covid protocol, due to which The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation sealed the DMart grocery store. 

The manager of the store located on Link Road in Malad (West) has been served a notice to submit an explanation as to why the shop`s license should not be revoked within three days.

According to the civic body, the staff at the store — especially those at the billing counter — were found not wearing masks or gloves. Additionally, neither employees nor customers were following social distancing at the shop. A large crowd of customers had gathered at the store, thereby violating attendance rules.

The BMC said, "Covid-19 prevention measures are being implemented in the entire state including Mumbai. According to the Infectious Diseases Prevention Act, it is mandatory to strictly follow all these measures and guidelines. In this connection, during the investigation on Saturday, it was found that the measures were being violated at the DMart store in Malad. Management of the store was held responsible for the violations. Hence, the store has been sealed and notice has been issued."
