Lucknow, Jul 23(UNI) Cane and Sugar Commissioner Sanjay R Bhoosreddy on Friday said cane yield in Uttar Pradesh in the crushing season 2020-21 has touched a record level of 815.00 quintal/ per hectare.
Bhoosreddy said here that as per the data, District Shamli of Saharanpur region ranked first in Uttar Pradesh with an average yield of 1004.28 qt/ha, Muzaffarnagar with an average yield of Rs 923.20 and Meerut with an average yield of Rs 911.76 qt/ha stood second and third respectively.
The details were given on average yield in 45 cane production districts of UP.
Giving detailed information in this regard, Cane Commissioner said that the average yield has increased in comparison to the last crushing season.
Emphasizing on the process of average yield calculations, he said that every year cutting of sugarcane crop is done by the department to collect the data of Cane production. This crop cutting program is carried out under the supervision of Gazetted officers working in the nearby Cane districts, and district wise figures of average yield calculated on the basis of sugarcane crop cutting by the department.
The Cane Commissioner said that the average Cane yield of the state is increasing continuously.
