Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has termed the alleged spying by spyware Pegasus as treason. Talking to reporters in Parliament premises, Rahul Gandhi said that Home Minister Amit Shah should resign and the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be probed under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Rahul Gandhi along with Congress MPs protested in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Parliament premises on Friday.
He further said, "Pegasus is classified as a weapon by the Israeli state and is believed to be used against terrorists. The Prime Minister and the Home Minister have used it against the Indian state and our institutions".
Rahul said that "my phone was tapped. This is not a matter of my privacy. I raise the voice of the people. Narendra Modi has used this weapon against our country. The Home Minister should resign. Apart from the PM and the Ministry of Home Affairs, no one can authorize it.
