India's Covid-19 tally rose to 3,12,93,062 on Friday, registering 35,342 cases in a single day. The death toll is now at 4,19,470, with 483 more fatalities.
According to the health ministry, the number of active cases has fallen to 4,05,513. This is 1.3 per cent of the total caseload. The national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.36 per cent.
In a span of 24 hours there was a decline of 3,881 active Covid-19 cases.
The total number of tests for Covid-19 conducted so far climbed to 45,29,39,545, with 16,68,561 tests being conducted on Thursday. The ministry said, the positivity rate has been less than three per cent for 32 consecutive days. The recorded positivity rate on Thursday was 2.12 per cent.
The positivity rate for the week was recorded at 2.14 per cent.
The total number of people that have made a recovery from Covid-19 jumped to 3,04,68,079. However, the case fatality rate stands at 1.34 per cent, according to data shared by the health ministry.
A total of 42.34 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far.
The Covid-19 tally has been on the rise and the country registered 30 lakh cases by the end of August, last year. It jumped to 50 lakh cases by mid-September, 2020. It crossed the one crore milestone in December, last year.
India crossed two crore Covid cases in May, this year and hit the three-crore mark on the 23rd of June.
