A flood situation has arisen in Telangana due to heavy rains for the last several days. Villages of Nirmal, Adilabad and Nizamabad districts are completely flooded are heavy rains in the state.
Many villages have been completely submerged in water due to the rain that has been pouring in for the past several days. NDRF team has been deployed to rescue people trapped in their homes due to floods. Official sources said that relief operations have been launched in Nirmal and other districts. NDRF personnel rescued a group of seven people trapped in an ashram in the Nizamabad district. State Road and Building Minister Vemula Prashant Reddy supervised the operation, he said. Those trapped in the ashram were rescued early Friday.
Sirisila district collectorate complex has been submerged following incessant rains in Telangana. India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in three districts of the state Kumuram Bheem, Jagtial, Warangal and 9 districts orange alert.
In view of this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has appealed to the party workers in the state to provide all possible help. Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "My thoughts are with our brothers and sisters in Telangana facing massive floods. I appeal to Congress workers to provide all possible assistance in the rescue operations. There are still warnings of more heavy rainfall. Please take care and stay safe".
