Panchkula, July 22
The police have registered an FIR against two Kaithal residents and six unknown persons for allegedly trespassing into a flat of a Sector 27 resident posing as cops of the Crime Branch and threatening him.
The two suspects have been identified as Om Prakash, alias Budhu, and Hardeep.
Though the incident took place on the intervening night of May 21 and 22, the FIR was registered on July 21.
The police said the FIR was registered after the victim approached them with a complaint that he had been receiving threats from the suspects since May.
The complainant first approached the DCP office, which in turn directed the Chandimandir police station to register an FIR into the incident.
“The key suspect, Om Prakash, owes my parents around Rs65 lakh and they had filed a recovery suit against him. Due to this, Om Prakash keeps animosity towards us. He had even threatened my parents to withdraw the case against him. On the intervening night of May 21 and 22, the suspects entered our society posing as cops of the Rohtak Crime Branch. Upon being inquired by the society guard, they told him that they were looking for my father (Tarsem), saying he was an absconder in a murder case. They broke open the gate of my flat and tried to enter inside. When the security guard told him that nobody was at home, they left the spot,” Manish Goyal told the police. The complainant further alleged that the suspects were history-sheeters.
A case was registered under Sections 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC at the Chandimandir police station.
