Car fell into a ditch late night in Shimla, two gardeners died

The deceased have been identified as Satpal (42) son Mohan Lal and Nitya Nand (38) son Kewal Ram resident of Khadela Tehsil Nankhari. Satpal was driving the car.

Two people were killed when the car went uncontrollably and fell into a deep gorge in Tehsil Nankhari of Rampur sub-division of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. The accident happened on Thursday night at a place called Panja near Kharela.

Both the deceased were residents of Kharela village and used to do horticulture work. He was returning home in an Alto car.

According to the police, the driver lost control around 9 pm and the car fell into a gorge about 100 meters deep. On receiving information about the accident late in the night, the team of Nankhari police reached the spot and found two persons dead on the spot. The police had to struggle hard to get the dead bodies out of the ditch.

AC Shimla Mohit Chawla said on Friday that the post-mortem of the dead bodies is being done. Both the victims of the accident used to do gardening and farming. He said that the cause of the accident is being investigated by registering a case. Both died on the spot.
