Amid heavy rains in Maharashtra, the Central Railway has canceled or short-terminated some trains in Mumbai due to massive flooding on the rail tracks, hampering the daily lives of people
Mumbai has been witnessing continuous rainfalls for the past few days. The financial capital received no respite on Thursday too as incessant rains battered Mumbai. According to the India Meteorological Department heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to take place in Mumbai and suburbs with the possibility of extremely heavy rains at isolated places.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a red alert for six districts of Maharashtra which have been already pounded by heavy rains, forecasting "extremely heavy" rainfall and recommending preventive actions.
