THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The syndicate of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has decided to formulate a complete digital online exam system based on open-source software. For this, International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS) will be appointed as the technical consultant. The syndicate took the decision upon the recommendations proposed by the egovernance committee on online exams.
KTU is planning to bring the online exam system within a year. The technical expertise of ICFOSS will be put to use in choosing a proprietary software that may be used until a complete online exam system is put in place. As part of the efforts to bridge the digital divide, high-quality laptops will be provided to around one thousand students in affiliated colleges. The syndicate also gave the nod to spend Rs 4.5 crore for this in the first phase.
DUK to set up Centre of Excellence in Kochi
Digital University Kerala (DUK), in association with the Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET), will set up the country's first Centre of Excellence in Intelligent Internet of Things sensors near Maker Village, Kochi.
