Gzb gets 26k vax doses in latest batch

Ghaziabad: The district got its latest batch of 26,000 vaccine doses on Tuesday and of these, about 14,000 were used on Wednesday. Officials said the remaining doses would be administered on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the vaccination drive was conducted across 86 session sites in 43 centres and 13,160 people got the jabs. Of them, 8,327 were in the 18-44 years category.
According to officials, they are looking at a similar number on Thursday. “We are working out our targets on a day-to-day basis based on the supply. The slots on Co-WIN are being updated accordingly. The supply should have increased by now,” said a senior health official. The newly-appointed chief medical officer, Dr Bhavtosh Sankhdhar, said his priority is to ensure that most people in the district get vaccinated at the earliest.
So far, about 13 lakh people have been inoculated in Ghaziabad and of them, 10.6 lakh got their first doses. So far, 11.5 lakh Covishield at 1.4 lakh Covaxin doses have been administered. More than 6.7 lakh people who got inoculated are in the 18-44 years age group. About 4 lakh people are between 45 and 60 years and 2.3 lakh people are above 60 years of age.
