India VS County XI: Ravindra Jadeja hits consecutive 50s, will be included in playing XI for 1st test vs England – Team India’s premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who suffered a thumb injury in the India tour of Australia and missed out on India vs England Test series earlier this year, has returned to form with consecutive fifties in the practice match against Select County XI on Thursday. Jadeja scored 75 runs in the first innings while 51 in the second innings. With these knock, he is likely to appear in ENG vs IND first Test starting on August 4 at Southampton. (ENG vs IND)
Jadeja came out to bat at number 6 in the first innings of the practice match, where he went on to score 75 runs in 146 balls with the help of five fours and a six. While in the second innings he scored 51 runs in just 77 balls. He hit four boundaries and one six in his innings.

With his return to form it is most likely that Virat Kohli will pick him above R Ashwin in the first Test against England. The condition at Southampton favours pacers so India can go with four pacers and a spinner. Jadeja’s batting form in the practice match might just push Ashwin away and get selected in playing XI.
