BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) _ Investar Holding Corp. (ISTR) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $5.7 million.
The bank, based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, said it had earnings of 53 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 57 cents per share.
The holding company for Investar Bank posted revenue of $28.4 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $25.2 million, exceeding Street forecasts.
Investar shares have risen 33% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $22.05, a rise of 61% in the last 12 months.
