Widespread internet outages reported Thursday
It's not just you. Several websites are down as of Thursday afternoon.
Widespread issues began to be reported to DownDetector around 11:45 a.m., according to the company's Twitter feed.
DownDetector said reports indicate there may be a widespread outage at Akami, which has acknowledged the issue.
"We are aware of an emerging issue with the Edge DNS service," Akami officials said on the company website. "We are actively investigating the issue."
Akamai offers content delivery and cloud services, DownDetector reported.
CNBC reported that Akami would provide an update at 1 p.m.
DownDetector users are reporting issues at Amazon and Amazon Web Services as well as Home Depot, LastPass, Airbnb, Southwest Airlines, Fidelity and US Bank.
"We are aware that some customers may be experiencing issues with our platforms. We are working urgently on resolving the issues. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your being a customer," Fidelity said on Twitter.
