Two absconding alleged accused which include the main accused who raped a 17 year old girl from one of the villages in Salcete and the victim’s mother

have been detained in Bihar and are being brought to Margao on a transit warrant. Police said that the main accused who raped the girl was caught in Moradabad Bihar while the victim’s mother was caught at Mugalpur Bihar. Both were absconding since June 30.

A team from the Margao police station headed by investigating police officer sub inspector Vibhavari Gaonker was sent to Bihar in search of the two alleged accused who were absconding from Margao after committing the crime. Other members of the police team include police constable Yatin Gaonker, Sandeep Kokre and lady police constable Akarsha Gaonkar.

Police disclosed the names of the two alleged accused as Rahim Khan (22) who allegedly raped the girl and the victim’s mother Fatima khan (40) on whom Margao police have registered the offence for abetment to commit suicide. The victim girl who was pregnant attempted to commit suicide when Rahim Khan refused to get married to her.

Police said that a 17-year-old girl from a village in Salcete taluka was allegedly raped and assaulted by Rahim khan when she was pregnant. The victim girl was working in a medical store.

During the course of investigation police suspected the involvement of the victim›s mother in the case and an offence was registered against her for abetment to commit suicide. She forced the victim girl to commit suicide said a source in the police.
