Tensions run high after 2 bulls found electrocuted

Noida: The situation was tense in the Salarpur area of Noida’s Sector 45 on Wednesday morning. The locals had found the carcass of two bulls in the vicinity. They informed the police who then rushed to the spot.
Three weeks ago, a bull was found decapitated in the same area — a few metres away from the Amrapali Sapphire apartment. While this case is still under investigation, the latest incident happened due to electrocution, police said.
The carcasses were discovered around 7 am, after which the locals gathered at the spot and protested against the police for over five hours. Suspecting foul play, they demanded swift action. However, a post-mortem later revealed that the animals were electrocuted and not killed intentionally. Following the probe, the protesters were pacified.
Ranvijay Singh, ADCP of Noida, said that the police recovered CCTV footage in which the stray animals were seen to be electrocuted. He said, “We also found that most cases of electrocution occurred near the transformers installed by the electricity department. We have written to them multiple times.”
