Pernem police arrested two mobile snatchers from Karnataka and recovered the stolen mobile phone.
According to Pernem police on July 17 a series of mobile snatching incidents was reported across Goa wherein two motorcyclists were involved in snatching of mobiles. Police said that a phone snatching incident was reported at Dhargal in Pernem wherein one Mahadev Yallapa Kaur resident of Dhargal had lodged a complaint. In this connection Pernem police registered an offence under Section 356, 379 read with 34 Indian Penal Code and began with the investigation.
Police said that since the accused had proceeded towards Maharashtra, police contacted PI Banda and PI Sawantwadi to track the motorcyclist. Police added that similar offence was also committed at Sawantwadi and an intensive technical surveillance and local intelligence identification was conducted of both the accused. A police team headed by PI Jivba Dalvi along with PSI Harish Vaigankar, PSI Sanjeet Khanolkar, PSI Vivek Haralankar police constable Arjun Kalangutkar, Swapnil Shirodkar, Sagar Khorjuekar, Sandesh Warak, Vinod Pednekar carried out this successful operation wherein both the accused were apprehended from Haveri police station. Police successfully recovered the mobile snatched from the complainant worth Rs 11,000 and also recovered two more mobiles and also a motorcycle which was used in the crime.
Pernem police have arrested both the accused identified as Sudip Haweri (19) and Siraj Motebenur (19) both residents of Haveri, Karnataka. Pernem police is investigating the case.
