No vaccination in Kalyan-Dombivli on Friday due to rains
"Due to continuous heavy rains, vaccination will remain closed on 23/07/2021," said Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation. This will be for the fourth day in a row that the jabs will not be given.
The water level is receding in the flood-affected areas in Kalyan, Badlapur and Bhiwandi.

Thane: 146 people rescued from flood-like situation, many stranded
The Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF) have rescued 46 people in Bhiwandi after the Kamwari river crossed a dangerous line leading to a flood-like situation. As per TDRF officials, their team along with the local Bhiwandi fire team rescued 40 people who have been stuck in the Ganesh Nagar area near Padgha in Bhiwandi taluka of Thane district on Thursday wee hours. KDMC temporarily suspends water supply in Kalyan-Dombivli
Rainwater entered the Mohane pumping station in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation limits in the early hours of Thursday, leading to a temporary suspension of water supply in the twin cities. "The water supply has been cut off in areas of Kalyan rural, Kalyan B ward, Dombivli East, and Dombivli West as rainwater has entered the Mohane pumping station," the KDMC informed. Rainwater also entered the Mohili water treatment plant resulting in the suspension of water supply to the entire A ward, Birla College area and Waldhuni area. Full story here

Officials quash rumours of Barvi Dam opening its gates
"Rumours have been circulating that the gates of Barvi Dam have been opened due to continuous torrential rains in the last few days and that it will worsen the situation in the city. The actual overflow level of Barvi Dam is 72.60 metres and at present the water level of Barvi Dam is 67.50 metres. Therefore, the gates of Barvi Dam are not likely to be opened immediately. Citizens must not fall prey to any rumour," officials said.

NDRF deploys nine rescue teams in Maharashtra after heavy rains
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed nine rescue teams in Maharashtra, including four in Mumbai, after heavy rains caused flooding in some coastal areas of the state on Thursday. Mumbai, its neighbouring Thane and Palghar and other districts in the Konkan region have been witnessing heavy downpour since the last few days, leading to inundation at several places and disruption of rail and road transport services. Water level of many rivers has risen and crossed the danger mark at some places. An official statement issued by the NDRF said four of its teams have been deployed in Mumbai, and one each in Thane and Palghar districts.
Helicopter facilities have been ordered to reach critical spots as soon as possible and the Disaster Management, Relief & Rehabilitation Department is keeping a close watch on the situation: Vijay Wadettiwar
