LUDHIANA: The civic officials, while continuing with their drive against
illegal colonies and buildings, demolished a few under-construction buildings and illegal colonies at the initial stage on Thursday.
The officials claimed that drive was carried out in all
four zones in Punjab's Ludhiana as per the directions of mayor
Balkar Sandhu and municipal commissioner
Pardeep Sabharwal.
The officials razed one shop at Rahon Road while four industrial buildings were dismantled in Gehlewal and Guru Vihar located at Rahon Road.
They also dismantled one illegal building's backside in Mann Dharam Kanda, three buildings' backside in Mann Dharam Kanda and two buildings in Mali Chowk.
Ganpati Colony part 1 and 2 were also dismantled.
In BRS Nagar E block four shops were razed as commercial activity was going on in residential area.
One commercial building in Kailash Chowk and one booth near Orient cinema were also dismantled.
Joint commissioner Kulpreet Singh said people should follow the norms for avoiding their loss.
