Rangers sign F Barclay Goodrow to six-year contract

The New York Rangers signed forward Barclay Goodrow to a six-year contract on Thursday.

The Will Sports Group, the agency for the 28-year-old Goodrow, confirmed the deal is for $21.85 million.

A two-time Stanley Cup champion with Tampa Bay, Goodrow joined the Rangers in a trade on Saturday that sent a 2022 seventh-round draft pick to the Lightning. He would have become an unrestricted free agent on July 28 if New York hadn't worked out a deal.

Goodrow registered 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) in 55 regular season games with the Lightning in 2021-22. He set a career high in plus/minus rating (plus-16) and led the team with 111 hits. He added two goals and four assists in 18 games during the playoffs as Tampa Bay won its second straight Stanley Cup.

The undrafted Goodrow has recorded 93 points (32 goals, 61 assists) and 304 penalty minutes in 331 career games with the San Jose Sharks (2014-20) and Lightning.
