In an interesting development on MagSafe, Apple has suddenly updated the Magsafe support page for MacBook which has not been updated since 2016. A Twitter user, Sami Fathi, is the first person who noticed this change, and subsequently, the tweet reveals a great deal about the Magsafe support page and what this sudden update could mean for the MacBooks and Magsafe.
Apple often updates support docs with clarity around wording, new steps, etc… This case is particular interesting, however, given that Bloomberg and Kuo have both said MagSafe is returning. This specific update could simply be for users of older Macs. https://t.co/v4FX5Zpqhw

First off, this sudden update confirms that the future MacBooks will come with support for Apple’s MagSafe chargers. There were already rumors surrounding this predicament, but this new development kind of confirms the rumors. In a parallel thread, one of the potent questions around this concerns the kind of port that would be used.
The newly updated page clearly describes that if a Mac uses MagSafe 2, the user can use a MagSafe 2 power adapter or a MagSafe power adapter connected with the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 adapter; on the other hand, if a MacBook uses MagSafe, the user can charge their MacBooks with a T style or L style MagSafe power adapter. The Apple Support page also cautions the users to use a power adapter with a proper wattage; the support page also calls for an examination for line noise issues along with examining the plug, MagSafe connector, and cables thoroughly.
More information on this front, regarding both the MagSafe and the upcoming MacBook models, hopefully, will be elaborated by the company in the near future.
