Kushwaha blames BJP for JD(U) slipping to 3rd position in Bihar Assembly Elections 2020

Patna, Jul 22 (UNI) Former Union Minister and chairman of of JD(U) parliamentary board

Upendra Kushwaha today virtually blamed BJP for defeat of his party slipping to 3rd position

in Bihar Assembly Elections held in 2020.

Mr Kushwaha during his ongoing "Yatra" to strengthen JD(U), told media persons in Sasaram,

that it was natural to oppose for a party to oppose its political opponents in a democratic set-up

of the country. But, it was internal betrayal of someone in same political group, of which JD(U)

was a part, led to its defeat at a large number of seats, slipping to 3rd position in Bihar

Assembly Elections in 2020.

" Such betrayal by a partner of same political group, can not be tolerated", JD(U) leader said

making an oblique reference to BJP which was partner of JD(U) in NDA.

He was making strenuous efforts to strengthen JD(U) to make it number one party again with blessings of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he further adding that it was time for all to work unitedly

to strengthen NDA, which was functioning well in Bihar.

As it is, JD(U) became junior partner of BJP in NDA after 2020 Bihar Assembly Elections.

JD(U) finished 3rd in Bihar Assembly elections with 43 seats while BJP had won 74 seats.

RJD had emerged single largest party by winning 75 seats in last Assembly electoral battle

of Bihar held in 2020.

Meanwhile, Former RJD MLA Shakti Yadav, reacting over the remark of Mr Kushwaha, said

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should snap its ties with BJP and come out from NDA.

How could Mr Kumar continue in alliance with a party which had betrayed him in 2020

Assembly elections, he asked and added that a message would go to public that Mr Kumar

had no principle, if he continued further in NDA.

On the other hand, spokesman of BJP Prem Ranjan Patel said that those found guilty of

betrayal and causing internal sabotage to cause defeat of NDA candidates should be

identified.

Action should be taken against them, he stressed.
