Greater Noida: A burglary was reported at a mobile shop in
Kasna area late Monday night.
According to police, the
robbers fled with mobiles worth Rs 12 lakh and the crime was captured in a CCTV camera of the shop.
The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the owner, identified as Kamal Bhati, opened the shop. In his complaint, Bhati claimed that when he came to open the shop on around 9am, he found that the shutter was cut open.
When he went inside the shop, he saw that a huge number of phone sets were missing, after which he immediately checked the CCTV footage of the showroom. The video clip shows two masked men entering the shop around 1am. They stayed inside for a few hours before decamping with 84 phones worth over Rs 12 lakh.
Sudhir Kumar Singh, SHO, Kasna police station, told TOI that on the basis of a complaint, an FIR was registered against unknown persons under sections 457 (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence punishable with imprisonment) and 380 (
theft in dwelling house, etc) of the IPC.
“An investigation in the matter is underway. There were at least two burglars who are seen in the footage. We are working on tracing them. For now, the owner has not cast suspicion on anyone,” the SHO said.
