A 25-year-old man was shot by a gunman on a motorized bike in Harlem early Wednesday, police said.
The victim was on Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 127th Street around 12:40 a.m. when he got into an argument with someone who investigators believe he knows, according to cops and police sources.
The squabble turned violent when the suspect opened fire, striking him twice in the back, once in the chest and once in the stomach, authorities and sources said.
The shooter then fled on the motorized bike, cops said.
The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital, where his injuries were initially considered critical, but he has since been stabilized, police said.
The suspect was last seen wearing a mask, neon colored shirt and backward baseball cap, the sources said.
Five 9mm shell casings were recovered, according to the sources.
The shooting came hours after two teenagers were wounded in separate instances of gunplay in different corners of the city on Tuesday, police said.
The younger of the two, a 14-year-old boy, was shot in the arm during a feud between two groups at the corner of Broadway and South Street in the West Brighton section of Staten Island at about 7:45 p.m., police said.
The boy, whose injuries were non-life-threatening, was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where cops said he was uncooperative with investigators.
Another teen victim, a 19-year-old man, was shot in the face and leg outside NYCHA’s Clinton Houses in East Harlem at about 4 p.m., according to cops.
He was also uncooperative and taken to Harlem Hospital for treatment.
Also in East Harlem, a 53-year-old innocent bystander was grazed in the back when gunfire erupted on Lexington Avenue and 126th Street around 4 p.m., as she walked to a friend’s house, according to cops and police sources.
The shooter or shooters were settling a score that did not involve the victim, and fled the scene, cops said.
The victim was listed in stable condition.
