Ranchi, Jul 21 (UNI) Eid al-Adha or Bakri Eid which is the festival of the sacrifice was celebrated across the state in a subdued atmosphere.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren also extended his greetings to the people on the occasion. He urged the people to celebrate the festival by following the rules outlined for Covid-19.
State Congress Chief and Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon said that the festival of Bakri Eid was a symbol of sacrifice and teaches faith in God. Leader of the legislature wing and Rural Development Minister Aalamgir Aalam said that festival of Eid Al Azha is a festival for all the people of the country. He urged the people to follow guidelines issued by the government in wake of Coronavirus while celebrating the festival.
Leader of the legislature wing of BJP Babulal Marandi in his message said that may this Eid bring the blessing for the entire humanity so that people can walk on the way of peace and harmony.
Due to Coronavirus during the day the people offered Namaz inside their homes while in limited numbers some people were allowed to offer the prayers inside the mosques. After offering the prayers the people indulged in extending greetings to one another and feasted on the delicacies.
In wake of the festival, the district administration has made elaborate preparations as a large number of policemen and jawans were deputed to counter any untoward incident.
All the BDOs, COs and Police Station officer charges were asked to take action by law against the trouble mongers. Further, the administration had also made arrangements for the fire brigade, ambulance, transport, cleanliness drinking water etc.
As the state government had clearly said that no religious function would take place due to the Coronavirus pandemic, therefore, no namaz was offered at the mosques or Edgars. At the mosques and Eidgahs duty of magistrates and police officials was made in shifts. Apart from that QRT team along with riot control vehicle was also positioned in the city.
