NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old youth was arrested for killing an 18-year-old boy who had developed close relations with a girl he liked.
The accused, identified as Mohit, was unhappy with being a part of the "love triangle". Mohit had earlier been thrashed by the victim, Akash, after getting into a fight with him.
Police got a call on Sunday regarding the boy's murder. The body, which was found near a drain on
Pankha Road in
west Delhi, had multiple stab injuries.
Akash lived in southwest Delhi's Dwarka, but visited Pankha Road occasionally as his grandmother lived there. Local inquiry revealed that he was stabbed by a youth identified as
Jhamela. The accused was later arrested and the murder weapon was seized from him.
During interrogation, Jhamela told the cops that he was irked with Akash because of the "love triangle" with the girl. He also stated that he was assaulted by Akash 3-4 days ago. Subsequently, he purchased a buttoned knife to kill him.
