Kerala reports 17,481 new COVID cases, 14,131 recoveries

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 21 (UNI) Covid-19 was newly detected in 17,481 persons in Kerala on Wednesday while 14,131 patients have recovered from the disease, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
In a press release here this evening, the CM said "1,45,993 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 11.97 per cent. A total of 2,57,18,672 samples have been sent for testing till this day."
Meanwhile, 105 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 15,617.
In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
