Pottsville police: No one hurt in 'small incident' that closed West Market

Jul. 20—POTTSVILLE — An incident in Pottsville Tuesday afternoon prompted city police to close a section of West Market Street in the area of the 600 block.

Little information was available, but Pottsville Police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky called the situation a "small incident" with no injuries reported.

Numerous police vehicles, including from the city and Port Carbon, and officers in the middle of the street, raised concern among citizens.

One police vehicle was blocking the street just west of Garfield Square.

Police said additional information will be provided as the investigation continues.
