Heavy rainfall predicted in state over next 48 hours

Ranchi, Jul 21 (UNI) The weather department has sounded an alert in the state in wake of the likely heavy downpour which has been predicted over the course of the next two days.

On Wednesday Afternoon also the state capital and adjoining areas witnessed brisk rainfall while the sky remained under cloud cover. Over the last 24 hours, Rajmahal had received a maximum rainfall of 50.2 mm while Jamshedpur was hottest at 32.2 degrees and Chaibasa was lowest at 22.2 degrees.

For July 22 the weather Station has predicted light to medium range rainfall couple with thundering and lightning in all the six districts of the Santhal Pargana division. Along with that, the central regions of the state and districts located in the Kolhan division will also receive rainfall.

On July 23 the north-western districts of the state including Palamu, Garhwa, Koderma, Lohardaga and Latehar are likely to receive light to medium range of rainfall while one of two places will receive heavy rainfall.

Overall for the period between July 21 to 27, the MET has predicted cloud cover and light to medium range of rainfall in one or two spells.
