Compared to other metro cities of the country, Chennai has given both doses of corona vaccine to a more eligible population. A study conducted by the Greater Chennai Corporation states that Chennai has vaccinated the maximum eligible population as compared to other metros. According to the study, the city of Chennai has performed much better than Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The eligible population of Chennai city to be vaccinated is 59.45 lakhs and the total population is 78.53 lakhs. This means that 15 percent of the eligible population and 12 percent of the city's total population were given two doses of the vaccine. Bengaluru comes second only to Chennai with 15 percent of its eligible population and 10 percent of its total population being vaccinated. At the same time, in Mumbai, only 11 percent of the eligible population and only 8 percent of the total population have been given both doses of the vaccine. He said that during this time field survey workers reached their homes to advise the people and informed them about their second dose.
