The Western & Southern Open is back for 2021 and so are Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic

The Western & Southern Open will return to the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason this summer after its stint in New York last year due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
The tournament, which is scheduled for Aug. 14 - 22, announced its player field on Wednesday. Headlining the field are two-time champion Serena Williams, 2020 defending singles champions Victoria Azarenka and Novak Djokovic. Defending men's doubles champions Pablo Carreno Busta and Alex de Minaur will also return.

The 87-person field is stacked with star-studded talent. Daniil Medvedev will return and looking to claim the title after his victory in 2019. Other past men's champions include Marin Cilic (2016), Grigor Dimitrov (2017), Roger Federer (2015) and Rafael Nadal (2013).
Williams will be joined by past champions Madison Keys (2019), Garbiñe Muguruza (2017) and Karolina Pliskova (2016).
The tournament will be held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason and plans to welcome a full capacity crowd.
