President Joe Biden arrives in Cincinnati today to participate in a CNN town hall and tour a union training center.

The visit marks his third trip to the Buckeye State since he took office and comes as he's working with Republicans, including Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, to push a $1.2 trillion infrastructure package through Congress.

The town hall will air live at 8 p.m. at Mount St. Joseph University. The decision to hold it at the Catholic university drew swift rebuke from local Catholics and advocates who are critical of his views on abortion access.

5 p.m.: UC student invited to town hall

Tyler Benson, 20, learned at 11:30 p.m. Monday he might get a chance to ask President Joe Biden a question.

That’s when the political science major at the University of Cincinnati said he received an email from CNN that he would be one of the people invited to Biden’s CNN town hall.

CNN had reached out to UC’s political science department, Benson said, asking for students interested in attending.

Benson said he had to submit three questions last week to CNN along with who he supported in the election and his voting history. Benson said he supported Biden.

He’s not allowed to say what his questions are before the town hall, he said, but one is about COVID-19, one is about gun violence and another is about term limits.

Benson said he doesn’t know if he’ll be called upon.

“I’m just excited for the opportunity, even if the opportunity doesn’t come to ask him a question, just being there and being asked to attend,” Benson said.
