MUMBAI: An 18-year-old allegedly strangulated his mother for nagging him and his younger sister in Vasai on Tuesday. The teenager, a class XII student, told the Vasaigaon police that his mother was an alcoholic and would keep nagging them. The teen and his sister were fed up of the nagging that had only worsened after their father's demise last year. At around 9.45 pm, he asked his sister to step out of their house in Vasai's Koliwada area. He then used a leather belt to strangulate his mother (59). He stayed put in the house after the murder. When the sister returned home and saw the body she raised an alarm, alerting neighbours. The police took the body for autopsy. The belt was also seized from the house. The teen has been arrested for murder and remanded to police custody. According to the police, the teen has termed his mother as an alcoholic who was spending all the money left behind by their father.
