Spanish operators agree new code of ethics

Spain's five biggest operators have joined forces to agree to a new Code of Ethics that expands that reached in 2010 with a view to ensuring proper teleshopping practices and complementing existing consumer and data protection rules. Movistar (Telefonica), Orange, Vodafone, Masmovil and Euskaltel said the self-regulating mechanism is designed to ensure customers will not be disturbed by commercial calls before 9am or after 9pm, and never at weekends or during national holidays.
