'Our final run has come to an end.' Hyde Park Keystone announces permanent closure, again

After a three-and-a-half-month last hurrah, Keystone Bar & Grill's Hyde Park location is closing permanently.
The establishment initially closed in December 2019 before reopening its doors in April 2020 during the pandemic. Dan Cronican, Keystone Bar & Grill owner, said the Hyde Park location was always a challenge.
"What allows for the success at the Covington location is the fact it has all the pistons firing: lunch, dinner, bar business and weekend brunch," Cronican said. "The Hyde Park location was extremely popular for brunch and has a great patio, but overall, it was limited for a number of reasons."
When the location reopened for delivery and carryout in April, he said they were unsure of its longevity.
"At the time, it made sense to reopen as it allowed us to expand the delivery and carryout footprint, which were the only sales available to restaurants. Once dine-in was allowed, it was timed well with patio season, so we just kept it going."
Many restaurants in Cincinnati and across the nation have been struggling with staffing since pandemic restrictions were lifted. The majority of Hyde Park's team members are moving to help out at Keystone's Clifton Heights and Covington locations, which are still up and running for Cincinnatians looking for macaroni and cheese, burgers, brunch or craft beverages.

Hyde Park's Keystone Bar & Grill has been one of several 4EG venues in Cincinnati and Covington since 2011. As one door closes, another opens. 4EG is launching Pilar, a tropical, Hemingway-themed bar, on Court Street soon.
"Countless patio parties, boozy brunches, and Mac Mondays later, our final run has come to an end," said Keystone's Facebook post announcing the closure. "From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your patronage and support."
