MANGALURU: Former Union minister and Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes was critically injured after he accidentally fell while doing exercise on Monday.
The veteran Congress leader is in the ICU of a private hospital in Mangaluru. Udupi District Congress Committee president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor told TOI he lost balance while doing wall push ups and fell down in the morning.
“Initially, he did not take it very seriously, but later in the day, he suffered a severe headache. While he had been for a routine dialysis at the hospital, he underwent further tests for headache. Since he had internal injuries, he was immediately admitted, and on Tuesday, his health condition worsened, following which he was shifted to the ICU,” Kumar said.
