Heavy rainfall in nanded

Nanded, July 19 (UNI) The district has received heavy rains from July 1 to 14. It has heavily damaged crops on 9751.32 hectares. More than 165 villages have been hit severely in the tehsils including Nanded, Ardhapur, Kandhar, Loha, Degloor, Biloli, Naigaon, Umri, Mudkhed and Kinwat. At least seven persons died and three people were injured due to the rains. Livestock has also been severely injured. Among them, 54 animals have been killed while 57 houses have collapsed in various places in the district. Hence, the NCP demanded to conduct panchnama and pay compensation to the victims.
The NCP's District President Hariharrao Bhosikar has demanded financial assistance to the farmers and those affected by heavy rains in the district, today. In a petition sent to the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar through the District Collector it has been claimed that the excessive rainfall received during the last fortnight has caused a loss of crops in more than 9751.32 hectares, in the district.
