Ranchi, Jul 20 (UNI) The Jharkhand unit of the Congress party has demanded for a Supreme Court monitored probe into the Pegasus controversy and has decided to hold a Rajbhawan March over the issue on July 22.
Addressing a press conference at the JPCC headquarters state unit Chief and Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon said that either the Supreme Court should appoint any investigating agency or
itself monitor the probe over the issue.
Dr Oraon said unless the demands of the party are met it will stage agitation inside the 'house'
and outside.
He said that the issue will be taken to the villages and people will be made aware over it.
Dr Oraon said that on July 22 the party will organise a demonstration before the Rajbhawan over
the issue in which apart from the senior leaders of the party those from Yuva Morcha, Mahila
Morcha and Sewa Dal will be also participating.
He said that Pegasus software which is manufactured by a Israeli company can be only
purchased by the government therefore the state unit of the party condemns its use and
demands that the role of the Home Minister should also be probed into it.
He said that BJP and their leaders should also inform the people as to how much money
was paid to buy the phone tapping software and how many have been purchased by the
government.
