Karnataka PUC 2nd Year Results 2021: Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar and Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) Director Snehal R today announced II PU results. “We had decided not to hold exams for II PU students keeping in mind the Covid-19 situation in the state,” Kumar said. Students can check their results at the official website – karresults.nic.in.

Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) Director Snehal R said, “We have observed a rise of nearly 30 percent (27.98%) and 40 percent (37.51%) in candidates securing distinction and first-class scores respectively this time, in comparison with the results announced last year.”

As many as 2,239 students have secured full marks (600/600) this year after the evaluation process. Of the total 6,66,497 students registered for II PUC exams, 95,628 have secured distinction scores as evaluation considering marks of SSLC, I PU, and II PU (internals).

The Karnataka state government had decided to promote all candidates without conducting examinations, in the wake of the Covid-19 situation. While the same was announced only for regular freshers (first-time attendees), it was later extended to students enrolled as repeaters including those repeating as private candidates as well.

The government has decided to give 35 per cent grace marks to candidates repeating the board exam. Over 76,000 candidates who have registered for the exam this year fall into this category.

Karnataka 2nd PUC Results 2021: When and where to check

Students can check their results at the official website – To check Karnataka PUC results 2021 online, students can visit the official website karresults.nic.in and click on the result link available on the homepage. After login in using credentials, the result will appear on the screen. Students are advised to download and if needed, take a printout of the result mark sheet.

To check results through SMS, students will have to send the message KAR12<ROLLNUMBER> to 56263. Students can also get Karnataka Board 2nd year PUC results via the online portal SuVidya.

A total of 5,90,153 students were registered as freshers, of which, 95581 got distinction marks, 353538 got first class and 134846 got second class. As many as 6181 freshers managed to pass this year.

Last year, the overall pass percentage was 69.20 with the Science stream at 67.28 percent, Commerce at 65.52 percent, and Arts at 41.27 per cent. Among districts, Udupi had topped in 2020.

Over 5.95 lakh students had registered for Karnataka 2nd PUC board exams 2020. The PUC exams were conducted from March 4-21, 2020 but the last paper, which was to be conducted on March 23, was postponed due to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak and the subsequent lockdown. The pending paper was later held on June 18.

In 2019, the overall pass percentage was recorded at 61.73 per cent. Among streams, Science students had recorded 66.58 pass percentage, Commerce had 66.39 and Arts had 50.53 per cent.
