Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra was 'actually running' porn apps, says police. (Photo: Shilpa Shetty, Hina Khan/Instagram)A Mumbai court on Tuesday sent Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, to police custody till July 23. The IT head of his company, Ryan Thorpe, was also arrested and sent to custody till July 23. Businessman Raj Kundra, arrested in the case of a pornographic film, was “actually running” the mobile application which streamed these videos, overseeing the content as well financial dealings, Mumbai Police said on Tuesday. Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale ealier said, “We have arrested Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidences regarding this. Investigation is in progress.”
The Property Cell of the Mumbai crime branch had in February this year registered an FIR in connection with the case and arrested nine persons soon after. Kundra’s name came up during the interrogation of the accused, police officers said. Apart from the case by Mumbai police, Kundra’s name had also cropped up in a similar case that had been registered by the Maharashtra Cyber police last year.

Kriti, who plays the titular role, believes the film can educate people in small towns about the concept.
