According to the Covington Police Department, Donald L. Jobe, a former mayor and fire chief of Bromley, Kentucky, was killed in a crash Monday night

At around 8:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to KY 17 in the area of Pioneer Park for a crash with injuries.

Two cars and a motorcycle were involved in the crash. Investigators said the driver of one of the cars turned northbound out of Pioneer Park into the southbound lanes of KY 17 and struck the motorcycle that was traveling southbound.

Police said Jobe, 39, of Covington, Kentucky, was operating the motorcycle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Jobe was the former city of Bromley mayor and fire chief. He resigned after police raided city hall in 2017, and he was accused of taking up to $10,000 of public funds.

Jobe was arrested in 2018 and was indicted on multiple charges, including abuse of public trust and tampering with evidence. A trial date had been set for September.

Police said charges have not been filed in connection to the crash at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing.
