Mumbai: Police constable attached with local arms at Marol ends life

MUMBAI: A police constable attached with the Local Arms (LA-4) of the Mumbai police at Marol ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling at his Vakola police quarters in Santa Cruz (East).
The incident was observed on Monday when the neighbour entered the deceased Nikhil More (30) room with a duplicate key and found him hanging. Vakola police probing the matter did not find any suicide note or the reason behind More taking the extreme step. He has also reported to work a day prior he took the extreme step.
More was staying with his wife in the police quarters. Two days ago his wife has gone to her native place and More was alone in the house when he took the extreme step.
"More's wife asked her neighbour to check about his well-being as he was not picking her calls. She also asked her to feed the fish kept in the fish tank. The neighbour called the police after she entered the house and found More hanging. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared dead before admission," said the police.
Mumbai police spokesperson, DCP S Chaitanya said the incident has been reported under the jurisdiction of the Vakola police station. Constable More, posted at LA-4 Marol, committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling on Monday afternoon. The reason is yet unknown.
