Mass Covid-19 vaccination conducted at various places

In continuation of the COVID-19 preventive measures, District Administration Jiribam, Health Department and Jiribam District Police organised mass Covid vaccination at Jiri Mukh, Narayanpur, Choudrikhal, Durgapur and Kotaikhal in Borobekra Subdivision today.
Moreover, Brothers Union and Jiri District Citizens Covid-19 Task Force also organised mass Covid vaccination at Kalinagar Ward No 1/2/3.Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) and Jiri District Citizens Covid-19 Task Force also provided face masks, medicines and food items at the vaccination sites.
KAKCHING
ML Zulfiqar Alam Sheikh, president Anjuman in association with Kakching BJP Mandal and Sora Karanchi Club president, Ayajuddin Shah carried out mass Covid vaccination at Sora Karanchi Community hall yesterday.
The mass vaccination was organised under the supervision of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Kakching AC MLA, Mayanglambam Rameshwar.
A total of 169 persons were vaccinated during the drive.
Moreover, mass Covid vaccination programmes were also held at Mayeng Lamjao and Waikhong under Hiyanglam AC yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, Hiyanglam AC MLA, Dr Radheshyam expressed his joy over the recent surge in the number of people coming out to get the Covid vaccine and extended his appreciation to Kakching District police, Zilla Parishads, Gram Panchayats, CSOs, clubs and Task force of the constituency for their efforts in spreading awareness on COVID-19 and vaccination.
TAMENGLONG
Likewise, an intensified mass vaccination drive cum advocacy programme was held at Khoupum Gaidimjang in Nungba AC on July 16.Speaking at the programme, former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Nungba AC, Gaikhangam said COVID-19 vaccination is meant to save lives and there are no political strings attached to it.
He added that we all should get ourselves vaccinated at the earliest to stay safe from this pandemic.
Spreading awareness about the effectiveness of the vaccine against COVID-19 is the best way to make the masses drop vaccine hesitancy, he added.
Gaikhangam also added that there is no guarantee that vaccination will protect us 100% from the virus, we may still get infected, but the chances of needing hospitalization and severity of the infection is greatly reduced.
The programme was organised by COVID-19 Awareness cum Enforcement Committee, Nungba.
TENGNOUPAL
SDO Moreh, Irengbam Dinesh Kumar in association with Primary Health Centre Moreh, MO in charge, Dr Kh Santikumar along with the teachers under ZEO Tengnoupal organised an an awareness programme on Covid vaccination at Ch Tengnoupal and T Bongmol village today.
Later, the villagers of Ch Tengnoupal and T Bongmol village were also vaccinated.
Moreover, Dinesh Kumar also distributed uniforms and sports items to the students of Ch Tengnoupal Primary School under SSA.
THOUBAL
DLCYC and AWC Athokpam under the supervision of Thoubal AC MLA, O Ibobi and District Administration Thoubal also organised a mass Covid vaccination drive at Thoubal Athokpam Awang Leikai yesterday.
A total of 98 persons were vaccinated during the drive.
Similarly, mass Covid vaccination programme was also held at Sangaiyumpham and Athokpam yesterday under the supervision of Khangabok AC MLA, Surjakumar Okram.
Speaking on the occasion, Surjakumar Okram expressed his appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff under CMO Thoubal and the volunteers of Covid Task forces for their service during the pandemic.
The MLA also distributed face masks, sanitizers, hand gloves, etc to the medical team and the volunteers present.
